What I need is not entertainment, nor a getaway, but something to fulfill my heart.
The human race is on an endless road to what society has labeled as ‘perfect’. Perfection is only an ideal; as it does not exist, how do we possibly pursue it? If I had put my true feelings into the previous sentence, it would say:
“The human race is on an endless road pursuing nothing.”
But the people who do aim for perfection, reading this would just mean loads of conflict for myself. Yet I feel that I must express myself. If you can give me a definition of perfection, which could apply to every single person in this world without any objections, I’d sure love to hear it. I don’t mean to put anyone down or anything but I would just like to express my dislike to the word ‘perfect’. One is told numerous times in their lives,
“there is nothing in this world that is perfect.”
Sort of depressing, don’t you think? If something is the best - it can always be surpassed. Perfection is impossible unless we break through the cycle. People will continue to become increasingly intelligent, discoveries will never cease, where will it stop?
The dagger is knowledge but the hand is of the human.
Recently, people are discovering that humans only use a small portion of their brain. That when in extraordinary circumstances, human strength can be initiated. What will happen when people learn to harness those powers? One day, will we have a family of super heroes with super intelligence and super human strength? And to contradict them, will there be super bad guys trying to take over the world?
Perhaps simplicity is the answer. Though for some, simplicity is way too tedious. So what then? People will become increasingly smart, and strong, and live to be way over the life expectancy now. One day people might even live on other planets. Space travel might be an everyday thing one day. Time machines, super heroes, spaceships, all of those colorful illustrations in comic books coming to life one day.
Even with all those things, perfection is still out of reach.
Perfection exists only in the fairy tales that we read to young children.
We must ask ourselves,
What is our aim?
What are we doing?
Which brings us back to the cliché,
‘What is the meaning of life?’
...
